A significant milestone for Jefferson Academy

In 2024, Jefferson Academy marked its 30th Anniversary!

Jefferson Academy has flourished during its first 30 years and grown from a K-6 school with 194 students to an organization of over 250 employees that provides:

  • K-12 education for over 1,400 students across two campus locations in northeast Jefferson County.
  • The Summit Academy – a leader in providing for the needs of over 1,100 homeschooled students and their families from Westminster to Littleton and beyond into the foothills and Conifer.
  • A High School & GED program partnership with Hope House, an organization that provides free self-sufficiency programs to parenting teen moms.
  •  A partnership with Front Range Community College providing students the opportunity to take more than 30 credits toward an Associate of Arts degree.

About The Foundation for Jefferson Academy

Our Mission

The Foundation for Jefferson Academy is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a primary mission of providing financial support across the entire community of Jefferson Academy, a K-12 charter school located in Broomfield, Colorado.

Our Story

As a public charter school, Jefferson Academy receives the same per pupil spending as a traditional public school, but it does not receive funding for buildings, facilities, grounds, or equipment. Established in 2011, the Foundation for Jefferson Academy exists to support large-scale projects in these areas as well as technology, safety & maintenance upgrades, academics, staff salaries and our Community Cares program.

Utilizing grants, fundraisers and donations from our school community as well as businesses, alumni and non-profit organizations, we serve as a critical resource for campus administration, teachers, classrooms and social programs. Ultimately, our support upholds Jefferson Academy's mission to help students achieve their highest academic and character potential to become responsible, productive citizens.

Events & Programs

Community Cares

The Community Cares program has seen remarkable success and growth over the past few years and The Foundation is happy to support this effort on behalf of the entire JA Community. The program has provided assistance to JA families during the holiday period by matching donors with families needed a little extra help. However we are looking to extend the program to cover needs that might arise throughout the year.

Bricks are Back!

Leave Your Legacy at Jefferson Academy!

In recognition of JA's 30th year, The Foundation for Jefferson Academy is pleased once again to be offering friends, family and staff of JA the opportunity to custom engrave a commemorative brick, which will be laid outside either the Elementary, Secondary or Coal Creek campus buildings.

In addition to leaving a lasting legacy at JA, the purchase of a brick will help fund The Foundation's various initiatives too! A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each brick will come directly back to The Foundation. Thank you!

We are continually looking to partner with local businesses and organizations in and around our community, and to look for innovative ways to expand our grant and scholarship programs. We also rely on the generosity of individuals - parents, alumni, and others who similarly recognize the impact they can make by helping support K-12 education.

Company Donation Matching

Many companies sponsor matching gift programs that increase the impact of their employee’s donations to they organizations they choose to give to. If your employer offers such a program, we encourage you to take advantage of it.

If you have any questions on information you may need to complete a matching request, please contact us.
